So this is happening, the magic thrives despite the Coronavirus Crisis… returning to the Fae tribe for this magical event among friends, all live from our homes. Profits from the tickets will go to the conservation of Nature, though you can donate to a particular artist when you purchase at ticket and there’ll be a donate button also for the performers during the performances, we do with no budget, all profits from the tickets go to Mother Nature but it’s up to the ticket holders to also donate a little part for the contributing artists.
Still the thrill is for me to be with my two FAIRY SISTERS Rosa Mundi (Kelly Miller Lopez from Woodland) and Louisa John Krol as we are three sisters scattered in the globe (USA, Australia, Spain) and still the closest friends
More info here:
Even has the Frouds family as guests (creators and designers of Labyrinth and Dark Crystal puppets and creatures) and fellow band and friends from Faun, Abney Park, Stellamara, Woodland, Beats Antique, Wendy Rule and many more!
My first time at Faerieworlds (2008) and me with me Kelly, friends for live since, my dear sister.
We had an accident on our return from USA and we were robbed all our gear but the fae tribe worked to restore it and helped us to get us back on our feet, a help never forgotten. They did on their own accord and by surprise.
Another impression from Faerieworlds performances in which I also collaborated as guest of Woodland band
Back in 2008 I was on Faerieworlds (Oregon) for the first time opening for both Woodland and Qntal on the good Faery and Bad Faery Night. It was the time of my life where some everlasting friendships were wove, a family that stays strong and together still. Since then I was on Faeriecon several times (Philadelphia, Baltimore) a few times, last time in 2016 for the 30th anniversary of the movie “Labyrinth”
Me with Kelly (Rosa Mundi) at Faeriecon Philadelphia
2011: Melissa Irwin performing as one of the Underlivings (a videoclip with her is still in the making but was put on hold for “Fear no More” intro “The Longing) This was The Underliving Premiere (Baltimore)
The last time we gathered, Faeriecon 2016, 30th anniversary of Labyrinth . Top right with Charles Vess (Stardust), Renae Taylor, bottom center with the Frouds, bottom right with Jim Henson’s daughter.
And I know I’ve met some of you patrons in these events, share your impressions an d stories, it will be such a lovely reminder and memory for me… Cya later this month at this online event
Come white moss weave us a carpet Spreading oak, make a shade where we lie Leaves and Branches whisper a love song when I look in my true love’s eyes Young as any Spring, his eyes almost sing to me
Come down sparrow, sing me Good Morning Rise up Sun like the arch of the sky Living River, turn light to diamonds When I look in my true love’s eyes Like a child feels watching a rainbow like a bird feels the first time it flies I feel magic stirring within me when I look in my true love’s eyes Young as any Spring, his eyes almost sing to me
back in the woods… after almost 3 months we have moved on to phase 2
and finally I’m able to hike again… I’m elated and this is the result
of my first visit to the forest. Being indoors has been hard to me but I
understand the reason, still now we are finally allowed to hike and
visit the orchard and it’s been like the world opening to me. Still
keeping social distance and maybe I’ve not been the most active person
on internet but been working on many new things that I will be dropping
as soon as I finish. I am aware many things may have happened that I’m
not even aware of but I hope some of you have missed me posting things
🙂 And to newcomers… well this is Pris! sharing a bit of green magic
This is the motto of Disney’s Cinderella, and I think it’s something
that is very needed in these strange times we’re living, at the moment I
post this I’m on my 53th lockdown day and struggling a little already
but music keeps me sane and motivated 🙂 How is it in your country, how
are you all doing?
As you know in Spain lockdown has been very strict and long and we are still not allowed to walk for health, maybe May on… 🙂
Another one on my Quarantine’s series
So the last one was about vampires? and now Disney?
Yes that’s me, a rollercoaster of emotions at the moment but these
belong to a series recorded during quarantine times, just indoors in my
home studio, for fun, and in this case in collaboration with my friend
Patti Broussard playing a dreamy and rare instrument, the “Array Mbira”
which is like a big thumb piano and sounds like the most heavenly music
JUST ONE MINUTE, short and sweet!
The original song composed by Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry
Livingston for the Walt Disney film Cinderella (1950) and originally
sung by Ilene Woods and encourages to never stop dreaming. The theme of
the song was said to be inspired by Franz Liszt’s Etude No. 9 Ricordanza
of the Transcendental Etudes.
I hope you find it very soothing version and hopeful. Just hoping it
will make you feel better. What is the wish your heart is making? At
this very moment what I long the most (after almost two months in lock
down) is a stroll in the forest. Let me know in comments and HOLD ON! HANG IN THERE! BE STRONG! This shall pass!
“No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing the dream that you wish will come true!”
This video is a joint collaboration with Patti Brousard done during
lockdown quarantine times so despite being in different parts of the
world, we tried to weave some magic for you, here are both Patti’s and
my network… (all links at the end of this article) so feel free to
support in any way you may consider, an encouraging word even 🙂 we’ll
both appreciate it.
A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes
A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you’re fast asleep
In dreams you will lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling through
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true
Sweet Dreams (are made of) this… who am I to disagree?
I’m kind of a vintage retro girl already 😉 and quite an insomniac so here a lullabyish version short cover of this 80s classic hit by Eurythmics (1983) in a lullaby soothing kind of mood . Recorded live in three takes, voice and harmonies For me this song and “Mad World” had that soothing yet slightly “bitter” quality. I’ve covered also TFF Mad World you can watch it here:
What are dreams really made of anyway? What are your favourite 80s songs, let me know in the comments!
I always say a cover never beats an original so please make sure to check the ORIGINAL song by Eurythmics, it’s a classic!. This cover is just a tribute shout out to the original that you should check, originally sung by Annie Lennox and with more upbeat mood. This is more of candid dreamy take but please let me know your opinion. Hope you find it soothing.
What are your favourite 80s/90s songs? Mine you will see as I drop one now and then, being this one of them, also Tears for Fears, Bowie, Depeche Mode, This Mortal Coil, Cocteau Twins and lots of film music
Post your suggestions in the comments and let me know!
Though most my channel is devoted to my original music I’m doing a series of very short covers to honour my influences. Songs that were on my Walkman as a child (yes, I’m that vintage), mostly 80s, early 90s and geeky fantasy movies. So that will be a separate playlist (covers) and I’ll try to share a candid take like this more often.
Hearts of Space is a show an United States weekly syndicated public radio show featuring music of contemplative nature drawn largely from the ambient, new-age and electronic genres, while also including classical, world, Celtic, experimental, and other genres. Manually curated “slow music for fast times” The show has been running since 1973, produced by Steve Davis and host by Stephen Hill.
I’m honoured to announce my cover of Finn traditional Nuku Nuku Nurmilintu has been included in this week program dedicated to Cradle Songs, timeless lullabies and sacred songs for the holidays.
Not getting older but “vintage” LOL and hopefully a bit “wiser”
TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!! I have today that plan is really quiet, I
have a bottle of cider, a chocolate Santa that a fellow composer sent
to me and indulging watching a series while eating popcorn later on.
So here is me ten year apart 🙂 Same girl, same dreams… Lots of
things have changed and at the same time, lots of things are the same
My birthday present
This year Birthday and Xmas are practical… Editing videos and producing music with my old outdated computer was becoming frustrating as my old battleship started to have failures. So my partner Héctor has gifted me a new graphic card and solid drive. I myself got new memory, and unexpectedly a fellow composer and family sent me a surprise box with the motherboard and cpu I needed for a full update… so as I write this post, and moved by the generosity of people that are not always the closest or the ones you expect… my computer lies now on the floor “a bit naked” haha and hopefully back to functional in a few days.
Package also had a chocolate santa and a Unicorn and a handdrawn
unicorn. I also got a card from one of my patrons… and hopefully the
following days I’ll place it under my ratty mini Xmas tree…
I don’ t think the Santa is going to make it though…
Anyway I was overwhelmed by this generosity and I was asked by a
friend recently… I’m not sure HOW I can help… so I thought about
putting a little article together, with the hope for it to be a draft
for a video. Because sure you can help me and OTHERS.
10 Ways you can support ME (or an INDEPENDENT ARTIST you like)
Everybody says they love music and art… but are you aware of the
difficulties small acts have to face? It is always awkward to ask and if
it weren’t my birthday I wouldn’t feel bold enough to write it down. 🙂
Yes, yes, this post seems like a Shameless plug… might look that
way! but me, and many fellow artists struggle with many issues you
might not be aware and that’s what I intend, spread AWARENESS of our
situation in general and this post goes beyond myself as I see how many
of us artists struggle to voice out our problems and difficulties
loudly. As you should know that streaming services barely pay cents for
thousands of plays, and not all of us are influencers or famous
youtubers… the vast majority of artists are minnows in a vast ocean, does that sound familiar to you?
So even if my music or art is NOT your cup of tea consider
to support other small independent acts you may know in a similar way.
So yes, I’m going to, and I rarely do, tell you how you can help me or others, should anyone care to 🙂
But take this post also as a way to encourage and motivate also other
small acts 🙂 So if my art is NOT YOUR thing (which is OK as art relies
on different tastes) take into account you can do this for ANOTHER person
you know. There are many ways to support an independent artists and
most of them does not involve even any money. But we need support to
grow, to be encouraged and go on!
1) Please BUY what we sell… Artist struggle in the “All is free on Internet” Streaming era
Many artists are struggling to sell because now almost everything is
available immediately on internet or streaming services. It’s happening
not only to musicians but also to visual artists.
You can purchase my ALBUMS (yes, some of us still
sell those old fashioned physical formats to include art or other goods
in it ) or digital downloads from priscillahernandez.com/shop
alternatively from legal sources as Bandcamp, Itunes , Amazon Music and
Buy the prints and small originals from illustrators, a book or
ebooks and publications from your fellow writers… even if it’s easy
to access to free content on internet and even most of us provide ways
to offer it for free (through streaming services and such) that doesn’t
mean we don’t appreciate the support.
CREATING requires gear, investment, tools… and many of us end up paying to create what they share virtually for free.
And if those artists perform on concerts, organize conferences,
workshops or venues, please also make the effort to attend to them.
My shop is at http://priscillahernandez.com/shop
There you can buy my illustrated physical music albums, but also some
original prints, art, and other merchandising. And of course also my
discography in digital format, including singles that are not elsewhere.
As I have stated before we live times where music and art can be
found easily on streaming platforms and thus the artist is not
remunerated fairly… did you know you need . Did you know that spotify
roughly pay $0.0075 per play. And then there are the digital
distributors fee… in other words… You earn selling two cds to your
friends than with 10000 plays on spotify. That is why some other options
are surfacing as PATREON, a website/blog where the artist offer
exclusive content or supporters simply sign to provide a fee a month to
support their favourite artists in order to keep on creating.
Other options are direct donations or support on crowdfunding campaigns.
3) STREAM only from legal sources
You can stream my music from legal source like Spotify or Amazon
Music. There are other sites like Bandcamp that both allow streaming and
Yes they pay little but at least those stats help to open doors. If you
find someones’s music on a random video, maybe track down to the artist
page, to their official spotify, youtube or page. And avoid torrents
and “fans” offering the torrents because they “like” those artists. THAT
does not help.
4) Follow, subscribe, join the OFFICIAL Artist profiles on networks.
You can add me to your social networks Priscilla Hernandez is my
facebook page, on youtube, instagram, twitter my user name is my
nickname and trademark “yidneth”. Take into account that small artists
are usually not verified by facebook or twitter until we grow becasuse
literally “we are still not significant enough” that is literally the
response. The only way we can claim that or they start to see us is
that we grow our numbers. Not only that by feedbacking, commending and
interacting you’re keeping the artist motivated to keep on creating.
You can share my work with your friends, spread the word, share the videos. Tag me and be my team to reach! Here and in many networks you can tag @yidneth Most of us hate to self-promote, and that’s where we get our motivation in having our faithful supporters sharing our videos on their groups, reddit, and social networks. Spread the word!. Do not download and reupload without tags… I had myself a hideous experience of a stolen video, decropped of credit and going viral… Tag the artist page, CREDIT, and share Here is one of my videos, but it could be as well ANY… if you like
On facebook and ig they allow you to tag your stories with artists music, that way it also count in their numbers.
6) FEEDBACK, COMMENT, ENCOURAGE
You can leave feedback and encouragement, believe it reaches me and
it motivates me, and believe it is needed as I have also my times of
doubt. Tell me you like it and you care about it! A heartfelt comment
and review can make my day. Start leaving a simple comment in this very
Also take into account of leaving a good review on facebook, google,
amazon and other sites where rating the artist or service they provide
7) RECOMMEND your favourite small acts festivals and venues and asks for their music on radio stations.
8) BECOME AN ACTIVE PROMOTER
You can write a blog post, article, interview, review or feature in
your website or blog. Most big magazines actually ask small acts for a
fee to be interviewed, but you can offer your space and review. Do you
like an artist? let others know!
9) REPORT COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT
This is happening on so many levels, stolen videos from musicians,
people resharing without credit, people monetizing the creations of
others, people offering the free downloads on torrent sites… But also
large scale chinese stores selling copycats of your creations with
your own photos. This has happened to some of my fellow clothing
designers mostly and it’s in fact a scam that damages the artist image
as chinese replicas use their picture so sell a low quality knock off.
So it does not happen only in music or books it happens to multiple
disciplines. Whenever a small artist starts to have a little bit of
success there will be “scavengers” around to see what they can get, copy
or steal. And it’s sad but it makes you be cautious. So on a daily
basis you see a photography, a video, things shared anonymously on
facebook groups because it’s a share of a share of a share… sometimes
altered until the artist cannot even be tracked back anymore. If you
RECOGNIZE THE ARTIST, mention so it can be properly tagged.
I had one particular video stolen from my youtube circulating in
VIRAL numbers on facebook groups, not only they cut my credits at the
end, some groups even watermarked my video with their services. Despite
having humble numbers on my youtube, the video went viral on facebook
with several millions plays with no credit. It brought eventually some
income of listeners but how much better it would have been to feel that
push on an official source. More even it was really stressful to deal
Above: My original video “Over the clouds” just in case you ever see it without my name 😉
10) ARTIST ENDORSEMENTS
Endorse small artists with your products… Are you a company that
makes instruments, software, art materials, music gear, drawing
tablets… whatever the product there may be a fellow that could make
use of it. I have been lucky and my harp as well as some other
instruments and even clothing have been endorsed as support. This is
different from being an “influencer” these are small companies that
really trust in what you do.
My kantele as many of my other instruments have been endorsed.
But you don’t have to be a company, you can donate your unused gear,
materials, music instruments in order not only to keep a cleaner planet
but help a fellow friend. Do you paint and have an old tablet you don’t
use, hand it to a fellow beginner artist… your old student clarinet
to someone interested in learning… It’s all about giving… Sometimes
I’ve even received things I’m sure others cherished but thought I’d
put to better use…
Sometimes it’s about giving
but most of times is about CARING…!
So thanks everyone for your support! And feel free to become my
little street team and make someone else to know about what I do… but
also take it as an idea to support those fellow artists, because YOU
COULD BE key in them continuing create and share.
Now that year ends and we’re all in a bit of Xmassy Spirit! Remember
to be generous… which MOST OF THE TIME doesn’t even involve any
money… just ENCOURAGEMENT!
I always remember my song GROW…. we must grow when the time is
right…and even the tallest trees become from tiny seeds… it just
needs patience, time, endurance and of course NOURISHMENT! Thank you
Here I am again with a NEW MUSIC VIDEO!… It didn’t take months this time but because I had been working on it 😉 I’m just a few days away of my birthday (next Monday) so I want to say thanks to Héctor Corcín for getting me a new graphic card so I can edit videos faster 🙂 Also for his help in every single video of course :). This year self-gifts are going to be practical, just gear upgrades to create a bit more smoothly. No plan for my birthday…. maybe just go somewhere to hug a tree! Usual Pris plan 🙂
Here is a very old Finnish traditional folk song called “Nuku Nuku Nurmilintu” our first Winter / Yule Special. The recording is very minimal, using only voice, harmonies, low whistle and kantele (National Finn music instrument) as the lead. I tried my best to pronounce well the words but I’m not native so my apologies if pronunciation is not 100% accurate. 🙂 Song is a lullaby about a wagtail (Motacilla alba).
Easter Eggs : How many times does the White Wagtail appear in the video? Can you find the ratties?
Can you count how many scenes the bird appear in? Also as always a
second eater egg is that as usual I hide (one or more) ratties in the
video :). If you know my feed you know I always hide my “fufunchis”
Did you know? My fufunchis had all Finn names Tuula, Ritva and Taika
🙂 They’re all 3 in the video. Let’s see who can spot them!
How can you support?
Of course, show your feedback here, resteem and encourage
If you have a second to visit the youtube channel and drop a comment there too I’m really grateful.
Sleep, sleep meadow bird,
Tired, tired, wagtail.
Sleep well in the grass,
Drift into the white land
Birds will bring you a linen shirt,
The wigeon will bring you a fine skirt.
The duck a little pillow to rest your head
The swallows, a cushion.
Sleep, sleep meadow bird,
Tired, tired, wagtail.
Sleep well in the grass,
Drift into the white land.
Pd. I merged several translations and used google translate. If you
are native from Finland and want to propose any change please contact me
Making Of / Behind the Scenes
Above: One behind the scenes photography while scouting locations.
Both my dress and cloak are made by El Costurero Real, who happened to
be visiting while we filmed this video.
My friend Alassie, Victor and Carlos came to see “Autumn” in my region
but we stumbled upon Snow, Rain, Sleet, Mist… and I must stay they
endured it all like Champions 🙂
We filmed some scenes with the cloak but it was heavy wool and it was
raining a LOT even if it’s not shown clearly in the video, so soon it
would become wet and heavy. Thus I opted for the dress only, and yes it
was chilly, sleet falling and at least I had a flask of hot tea waiting,
you know I don’t shy from the cold for a video or photoshoot 🙂
I love those moments in between seasons… Honestly I’m not even
ready to farewell Autumn… but the first snow is always a magical
feeling. The combination of golden and white and greens was such an
interesting tapestry. It’s incredible to think this is the same location
(of out of many) I used for GROW. That was filmed in Spring and Summer
The kantele: A traditional Finnish Instrument
It was all right to endure the weather but honestly I was more
worried about my Kantele, which is by the way National Finland Music
Instrument getting wet. The one I play is a 10 string kantele made by
my friend Gerry Henkel, I play it unconventionally upside down as I’m
The kantele is the Finnish version of an instrument known throughout the world as either a zither or lap harp.
The Finnish kantele triangular shaped sound box with strings running across the top of the instrument. When the strings – usually tuned to a diatonic scale – are plucked, a kantele will produce ringing bell-like tones. It is similar to a harp in some ways, but because of the way in which it is built and the way in which the strings are attached, a compelling and unique sound is produced as it is played. Heavenly bells…
Special thanks to Héctor Corcín @hedac who helped me filming an in the post-production of the video. Filmed in Urbasa Beechwoods, November 2019
This is my own and new TRIBUTE COVER of prequel series DARK CRYSTAL AGE OF RESISTANCE main theme composed by Daniel Pemberton. The series premiered last August but mylove for the original movie is from tender childhood. In fact… another Dark Crystal cover Pris? I’m not finished yet… This is my THIRD and a fourth (All Maudra Song) is in the making. Stay tuned!
This version was entirely performed and arranged by myself using
different folk instruments like bowed psaltery, dulcimer, hammered
dulcimer, piano, kalimba, small percussions and flutes among others. The
recording is also available at my patreon, where I’m posting this
candid tributes and covers.
I have always been a big fan of all Henson works from Dark Crystal to Fraggle Rock.
If you know Jim Henson’s Works (Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Fraggle
Rock, The Muppets, Sesame Street, The Storyteller and more) tell me
which one is your favourite.
If you haven’t watched this movie the Dark Crystal movie from 1982
(first movie with no human characters) directed by Jim Henson (hero of
my childhood) and Frank Oz, and for me the best fantasy movie ever made.
I grew up as a child collecting the figures and books, and I’ve crossed
several times paths with the team of artists that worked in the
original movie, but I was not not prepared for my favourite movie to be
back at the spotlight… so many things I can’t afford now LOL I won’t
be able to catch up with merchandising anymore 🙂
Back in the day it was a flop, it was a very expensive project that
faced for the first time how to create an entire world without the
computer graphics that exist today. The whole movie is an ode to
pupeteering and practical effects like no other. Water tanks with ink
were used for the skies, matte painting on glass for the landscapes, and
every single plant, animal, rock and detail was done to be a world out
of our own and still very “earthy”
This Cover is the main theme of the new series and my version
dedicated to all the team of artists that bring the world of Thra to
life and of course congratulations to Daniel Pemberton for creating
memorable new music for my all time favourite Universe. As a purist of
the original movie I was excited about the new series but also scared.
It satisfied my expectations and more 🙂 Even if I will be always a
devoted fan of the original movie, the new series expands the folklore
about a world I grew up to love as a child.
My previous Dark Crystal Cover was all outdoors in Nature, this one
is indoors at the studio, using purple leds, a smoke machine and props
to mimic the atmosphere inside the Skeksis castle. I choked a bit on so
much smoke but I think it looked rather magical at the end and very
fitting with the looks of the series.
I tried to mimic the Gefling Deet, she is a Grottan that lives in the
caves. She is very sweet and very connected to Earth and its creatures.
She often carries glowing lichens and moss and she is (spoiler)
affected by darkening. All the Darkening in the series is
represented by the “purple” hues of the once clear Crystal of Truth that
has been split and broken by the cruel Skeksis.
Above: The Dark Crystal is a tale balance between our light and
shadows. Astral creatures called the Urskeks are fragmented into evil
vicious Skeksis and Gentle but passive Mystics as the Crystal of Truth
was cracked and darkened. Nether one nor another are even or complete.
The whole arch in the series and later in the movie is to “HEAL” back
together what was broken
Above: Lore one of the “new characters” in the series but originally
envisioned by Jim Henson inspired by the Devon rocky landscapes. He (It)
makes a little cameo in my video.
Note. thank you very much to Héctor Corcín for rendering the 3d parts to composite in my video and for your help in the post-production of the video. Thanks for your partnership and help always.
Recording the audio
As you have read in one of my recent posts I injured my hand not long
ago and I’m not quite recovered… still I’m a stubborn determined
person so I managed to finish this. So for me there is even much more
effort than the one that is shown, and overcoming frustrations when I
couldn’t play as well as I wanted to. It’s not perfect but I think
that’s part of the charm too, that it is kind of rustic as the instruments that were used.
Above: Me playing “hammered dulcimer”. If you are familiar with my
discord server you may have seen me rehearsing this with my sprained
hand and a splint hahah 🙂
This instrument is also known as Santoos. Instead of being plucked the
strings are hit percussively with “hammers” in the shape of spoons hence
I also used my bowed psaltery (both plucked and bowed). This instrument has a very medieval-renaissance sound that was very fitting for the “vibe” I wanted to achieve.
As always I added some flutes. This was a challenge with my injured hand (I feel like a super-hero) but I managed 🙂
I also used small drums, gongs, bowls and shakers as percussion. Here
with a seed shaker. I like this one because I wanted to use very
“organic” and fantasy looking.
For the first time I included a kalimba or thumb piano. This was a recent gift from Héctor and this is the first time I feature it in a recording. (Yes Playing “thumb piano with a sprained thumb). Noone said I lack determination 🙂
I also used bowed glass, piano and other instruments that are not shown in the edit. Overall a bit painfulbut fun. Of course I took breaks but I feel very accomplished.
And of course even if the original theme by Daniel Pemberton has no vocals I had to include some choirs because that is my signature to it. It’s meant to be a candid tribute but also a personal reinterpretation.
Another world… Another time. Thra: A Wold created by Jim Henson and The Frouds
I have said it countless times… If there is someone I’ve always
admired is Jim Henson and his legacy. You may remember previous posts
with Dark Crystal and when I first started posting here a “Rainbow
My favourite film of all time is “The Dark Crystal” which is above all a
story about “balance” that provided a solid foundation of principles
So first of all Happy Birthday Jim Henson…today he would have
turned 83 years but he left us way to soon due to a pneumonia in 1990,
way too soon.
My previous two Dark of Crystal tributes
As The Dark Crystal was such an important inspiration for me as a
child I’ve recorded previously two other covers that I had shared
Gelfling Song sung by Kira in the original movie (1982) here performed by me with just voice, double Ocarina and ambient sounds I recorded myself along with Héctor.
Jen Play His Pipes
24th of September. Happy birthday Jim Henson (1936-1990)
Today is Jim Henson’s birthday… As you know yesterday I shared my
third “Dark Crystal” tribute but it’s only one of the many tributes to
his work I’ve done. I will be forever grateful for all the magic,
wisdom, lessons of kindness he taught me as a child through his work.
Jim Henson’s works are about a rare wisdom, call it naive sometimes, but with a message that runs deep to the soul,
to remind us there are things that matter, there are things we need to
care about. Be good and honest, and everything will be all right. And
all of this shaped me as a little child and made me become a better
person. I am not the only one, I know of many others who were listening
to these “lessons”.
Whats´s so amazing that keeps us stargazing…?
He said once… When I was young, my ambition was to be one of the people who made a
difference in this world. My hope is to leave the world a little better
for having been there. ”― Jim Henson

Indeed he did make the world better…
At least Mine…
Here another tribute to this wonderful genius and creator: A Rainbow
Connection originally sung by Kermit the Frog, a character he created
and interpreted until the day he died.
When he died all puppeteers gathered to sing “If just one person believes in you”
If you ever need motivation look for “Jim henson Memorial”
And when all those people
Believe in you
And strong enough
Believe in you
And long enough
It stands to reason
You yourself will start to see
What everybody sees in you
And maybe even you
Can believe in you, too
